Merging @ IBC 2024

New Hapi Mk III – Anubis becomes Dante Ready™

Amsterdam, 13 September, 2024 - At this year’s IBC, Merging Technologies will present the new Hapi Mk III with Dante option. Anubis becomes Dante Ready™ as well! While Merging has always supported the open source RAVENNA/AES67 standard, customers have asked us for years to also add compatibility to Audinate’s Dante standard. Finally, Anubis can be used as a hub, mixer or monitor controller in Dante environments, and Hapi Mk III is the ultimate Dante interface and channel extension, offering unparalleled audio performance. Compatibility with over 4,000 Dante enabled devices from more than 400 manufacturers means there is a whole new world of applications to be discovered, especially in the live and installation markets.

Adding Dante compatibility is a testament to Merging’s customer-centric approach and has no impact on our commitment to RAVENNA/AES67. Both AoIP standards have their specific advantages depending on the use case. That’s why we’ve created an FAQ page to help customers choose the best solution for their needs.

Merging Anubis

Dante Ready™ means, Audinate’s network standard is available to those who need it, but will incur no extra cost to those who do not require Dante. Ex factory, Hapi Mk III and Anubis are shipped with the RAVENNA/AES67 firmware pre-installed. The alternative Dante firmware is offered free of charge by Merging Technologies and can easily be installed using the MT Portal application. In addition, a Dante I/O channel license must be purchased from Audinate. For both products, two license plans are available: 16/16 or 64/64 Dante I/O channels for Hapi Mk III and 8/8 or 64/64 Dante I/O channels for Anubis. For interfacing with a computer system, appropriate driver software may be required, e.g. Audinate’s Dante Virtual Soundcard.

All Hapi Mk III and all new Anubis will be Dante Ready™ at no extra charge. For easy identification, Dante Ready™ units are labeled with a Dante Ready™ sticker on the packaging and on the bottom of the device itself. Hapi Mk III and Anubis with Dante Ready™ option will become available in the fourth quarter of 2024.

Existing customers wishing to use Dante on their Anubis, please refer to our FAQ for information on the service procedure. Hapi Mk II units cannot be retrofitted with the Dante Ready™ option.
