Control Surfaces

Remote management of the Ovation Interface and mix engine is key is almost any AV installation. Being able to create live mixes, fire cues and completely control the show from any location is a must, and the control surfaces available below will make it happen.

Dedicated Control Surfaces

Hot Keys and Standard Ovation Keyboards

Available in two different layout configurations, the Ovation Dedicated Keyboards connect via USB and allow for a comprehensive control over cue firing and the show itself. Special features like a dedicated connection to the application, allowing for the user to change focus in the windows OS without losing the connection is essential in broadcast and theatre applications.

Touchscreen Interfacing

From Cue firing to top and tail editing and show compiling, touch screen access makes Ovation push past other playout systems when space in the studio is at a premium. Employing nothing more than Windows7 touch access drivers, the Ovation screen, when used with “Hot Keys” interfaces becomes the ultimate touch-sensitive solution.

Ovation WebServer JavaScript Remote

A bolt on option to any Ovation pack, the WebServer allows for an unlimited amount of remote connections to be made from any web-enabled device sitting on the same network. Useful in almost every Ovation setup, this open source remote also allows the user to design and create their own customized UI to control Ovation.

The task of taking control of a show has always relied on the user being able to access the machine on which the show sits. Whether by costly KVM extension, or awkward positioning of personnel and equipment at times, the operator of the show has always had to be physically connected to the Sequencer/Control system running things… until now.

Introducing Ovation WebServer

Through a standard web interface (Safari, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer etc) it is now possible to access your show from anywhere, over standard HTTP. Log into your show and see cue lists, cues, firing and show controls for any application where it is just not feasible to connect physically to the machine. Run a rehearsal with your iPhone, provide timing information to the Pit conductor and provide limited access to cue firing for the stage manager or other staff.

Written using basic JavaScript (white paper provided with every option purchase) and able to provide multiple access points to a single show, this also provides the ultimate tool for creating custom-made, fixed installations and exhibits where “black box” style configurations are needed.

  • Unlimited remote access points via any web enabled device
  • JavaScript UI with simple URL addressing
  • Simple customization using standard webpage designers
  • “Per show” linking for instant UI changes when loading new shows
  • Password protection to prevent unauthorized access
  • Filtering to allow for only certain controls to appear

OASIS/EUCON Enabled Control Surfaces

OASIS (Open Audio System Integration Solution) is an open source remote control protocol, designed to bring the entire DAW application out onto a remote interface. Going way beyond mixer-only control, users of OASIS enabled control surfaces can Edit, Record, Mix, Master and completely integrate between their hardware and software.

AVID EUCON support in Pyramix/Ovation is the fruit of a tight interaction between Avid and Merging Technologies to offer a proper solution to take the control of the Merging's software. This is achieve via an OASIS-EUCON bridge which is constantly maintained to bring the latest features available through EUCON.

For more details on each controller, see this list of supported controllers on our Knowledge base.

  • LAWO | MC2 consoles

The Lawo Mc2 consoles integrated our OASIS protocol (OASIS first class) in May 2023 to support Pyramix and Ovation. Users can now directly control all the main mixer and transport functionalities from a layer in the Mc2.
