MERGING ANUBIS

Revolutionary Network Audio Interface and Control Unit with Superior Audio Performance

Anubis is a powerful and versatile audio interface with state-of-the-art technology. It offers switchable Missions for different audio applications, internal signal processing, and redundant network connectivity for I/O expansion via RAVENNA/AES67 or Dante (Q4/2024). A touchscreen allows for intuitive control and stand-alone operation. Whether you require a large mixing desk or a sophisticated monitor controller for immersive / 3D speaker setups, Anubis is the perfect solution.

A Multi-Tool with Outstanding Audio Quality

Anubis is a multi-tool with exceptional sound quality that allows you to record and process audio with the highest resolution available. It is thus the perfect choice for audio professionals with the highest demands. Thanks to its unique 32 bit dual preamp topology, designed by Merging Technologies, Anubis offers unparalleled audio performance with a dynamic range of up to 136 dB A (mic) / 139 dB A (line).

Anubis also features two reference-quality headphone amps with extremely low impedance ratings, offering high output levels without any distortion. This ensures the highest linearity and audio fidelity for all types of headphones.

Anubis is the quintessence of Merging Technologies' pioneering innovations of the last 30 years and is available in two versions. Anubis Pro offers sample rates up to 192 kHz/32 bit. The Premium version even supports DSD/DXD extreme resolution formats.

The ultimate AoIP solution

Anubis is a powerful AES67/RAVENNA control center, making it an excellent choice for broadcast studios, OB vans, and editing suites. Its compactness and robustness make it ideal for location recording and live events, where it acts as a cost-effective and efficient interface for large-scale network installations. Combined with Merging's MAD/VAD infrastructure packs, Anubis offers full ST2022-7, Virtual Machine, LAWO HOME and NMOS support!

Adding more I/O is easy - simply connect an AES67 device like a Merging Hapi or Horus. Thanks to Merging’s revolutionary “Peering” feature, Anubis is in total control. Anubis is also a perfect companion for Neumann's KH-line AES67 speakers, allowing you to set up and control a fully featured immersive audio environment.

From Q4/2024, Anubis is delivered Dante Ready™.* The Dante option allows compatibility with more than 4000 devices from over 600 manufacturers, opening up a whole new world of applications, especially in the live and installation sector. Ex factory, Anubis will continue to have the RAVENNA/AES67 firmware preinstalled. An alternative Dante firmware is offered by Merging free of charge to be installed by the user. In addition, a Dante license must be purchased from Audinate, who also offer Dante driver software (e.g. Dante Virtual Soundcard). This ensures there are no extra costs for users who do not need Dante.
* More information about Dante and a Dante Ready™ upgrade for existing customers can be found in our Dante FAQs.

Offering a Dante option has no implications on Merging’s commitment to RAVENNA/AES67 but is testament to our customer-centric approach. Both AoIP protocols have their specific advantages and use cases. For more information visit our FAQ page.

Unprecedented functionality

Anubis includes high-quality EQs, limiters, compressors, gates, expanders and sends on each channel, plus a reverb processor and an additional parallel dynamics module. Anubis even lets you record the wet and dry signal simultaneously. Outputs, too, can be processed with EQ and dynamics, if needed. Additional plug-ins like De-esser and Eventide Blackhole reverb are available via the online store, as is a Sonarworks SoundID add-on for speaker and headphone calibration using the internal DSP.

With its multiple Cues support, you'll be able to prepare, mix, and control cues straight from the touchscreen, monitor them, and talk to the singers and musicians, making them feel at ease to get their best performance.

MISSIONS - MODULAR APPLICATIONS

Accomplish anything you want with Missions

Anubis stands out and transforms the workflow of networked audio with its unique feature called “Missions”. Audio engineers require precision and control for their specific tasks – from initial recording to the final master. At the tip of a finger, you can effortlessly choose a 'Mission' that fits best for each stage of the process.

The Monitor Mission allows complex routing and full control of all monitor parameters such as mute, dim, and mono as well as ultra precise volume control for any loudspeaker setup, be it stereo, surround or immersive – including downmix, e.g. for headphones. Multiband parametric EQs for each output, adjustable time delays and level trims allow for precise alignment. Another standout feature is advanced bass management.

The Music Mission is the ultimate solution for recording and content creation, whether you're capturing a band performance or producing a podcast or stream. Several ultra-low latency mixers allow you to dial in individual cue mixes for each musician – including DSP effects such as EQ, compressor, gate, limiter and reverb.

The optional Commentary Unit Mission is specially designed to be used by commentators and podcasters, providing a simple and minimalistic interface, for easy operation.

The optional Venue Mission is a revolutionary solution for live events, combining distributed remote controllable preamps with sophisticated on-stage headphones monitoring and the endless routing possibilities of networked audio. In other words: personal tailored mixes for the performers with high quality preamps for the engineers and minimal cabling on stage for the technicians. The Venue Mission has been used at major events for live orchestral miking and musician monitoring, with each two players sharing one Anubis.

With its high-resolution touchscreen and stand-alone capabilities, you can access all the powerful Missions with ease. Additionally, the snapshots feature allows for quick and effortless recall of your session configurations.

UPGRADE YOUR ANUBIS

Upgrading your Anubis to the latest firmware will give you access to the latest features, updates and fixes. To download firmware and documentation please go to the Anubis download section.

It is recommended to register your Anubis device(s) in the hardware section of your account. To get access to your account, please register here.

About Anubis Dante Upgrades

New Anubis devices will come with a Dante Ready™ sticker on the packaging as well as on the bottom of the device itself. Just like Hapi Mk III, Anubis can run either the stock RAVENNA/AES67 firmware or a Dante enabled firmware. The Dante firmware comes at no additional cost. However, to use Dante, an 8 channel or 64 channel I/O license must be purchased from Audinate, who also offer Dante driver software, e.g. Dante virtual soundcard.

Please note that older Anubis devices cannot run the Dante firmware as adding Dante compatibility requires changes to the hardware. For Anubis SPS devices, a Dante Ready™ retrofit can be implemented by Merging for a service fee. A Dante Ready™ retrofit is not available for Anubis devices with a single Ethercon connector.

More details on the Dante Ready™ service pricing and procedure will be announced later as well as the Official Dante firmware.
