Overview

Welcome to the world’s finest mastering-grade networked audio interfaces: Horus, Hapi, Anubis and Anubis SPS, combining Swiss-built technology with industry-tested AES67 and RAVENNA connectivity.

Merging products have always been noted for audio fidelity and the introduction of these converters continued that tradition but with the added advantage of network signal transmission and control. The amazing transparency of the signal path is obvious at any sample rate but the Premium versions have inspired universal praise for their DSD and DXD performance.

Any stagebox needs pristine microphone preamplifiers and with remote control over the network, this is a package that suits any recording or post production environment. Ease of network management is assured with ANEMAN providing unprecedented speed and simplicity. A range of standard drivers allow these stunning converters to be the I/O for any DAW for any application.

Interfaces

MERGING+ANUBIS - Modular Missions

From the initial recording through to the final master, there are specific “missions” that require precision and control. If your mission of the day is to create a great mix, you need to be in complete control of your monitoring: reference monitors, nearfields, headphones, sources, surround mix, downmix, etc. Anubis gives you that “Mission Control” in a single, compact device that has unrivalled capabilities defined by the software application.

MERGING+ANUBIS SPS - Ultimate Broadcast Terminal

Taking all the standard Anubis features and adding extra failover functions (ST2022-7) as well as integration compliance (NMOS), Anubis SPS delivers to broadcasters the most versatile and cost effective solution to IP infrastructures no matter what.

HORUS & HAPI - Modular I/Os

A Horus or Hapi unit can be built to fit your exact needs by adding from a range of analog and digital option cards. Put small amount of Inputs and outputs in various locations, or stack over 200 I/O, which is what a fully loaded Horus is capable of, in a single rack. Flexibility and power in any form you need.

MERGING+NADAC - Masters To The Home

A reference DAC for the professional audio community is something that can be shared with audiophiles. Our MERGING+NADAC and other MERGING+ components have been created to offer the same amazing audio quality and the advantages of a true audio network to the high-end audio community. Now for the first time, listeners can enjoy the same experience as their favourite artists and the producers and engineers had at the recording session. These products have been given outstanding reviews by respected publications from across the globe. Networked Audio in the home is set to revolutionise the industry in the same way as IP is taking over the world of broadcast and entertainment.

Judge for Yourself !

The recent development of our Dual Gain Path technology allows our newly released Anubis and ADA8S/ADA8P cards to reach unprecedented specifications in terms of Dynamic Range compared to more traditional Mic Preamp and Analog to Digital conversion circuitry.

Left below are the results of our Dual Gain Path with astonishing combined Mic Preamp+A/D Dynamic Range nearing the theoretical resolution offered by perfect 24-bit conversion.

In the center below the results of our classic Dual (parallel) A/D as typically embodied in our AKD8D range of cards for Horus & Hapi.

To the right below the results of a typical third party mid-range USB converter, at the very same exact Gain settings.

ADA8V2, Anubis

Merging AD Conversion with Dual Gain Mic preamp, 1kHz sine @ -110dBu

AKD8D

Merging AD Conversion with traditional Mic preamp, 1kHz sine @ -110dBu

3rd Party

Third party AD Conversion, Mic preamp, 1kHz sine @ -110dBu

ADA8V2, Anubis

Merging AD Conversion with Dual Gain Mic preamp, Noise Floor

AKD8D

Merging AD Conversion with traditional Mic preamp, Noise Floor

3rd Party

Third party AD Conversion, Mic preamp, Noise Floor

Note: all wav files have been digitally increased by the same Gain of 80 dB to make it easier to compare for you without having to turn up the gain of your speakers or headphones.

The original signals were recorded with the same typical scenario of a microphone input with 20 dB Gain applied, corresponding to a Full Scale signal produced with a 0 dBu input.

Comparatively even bigger differences would be noticeable, using lower Mic Preamp gains as there would be less of Analog thermal noise presented to the input of the A/D converter chips.

Merging Quality

Optimal AD/DA conversion

After hundreds of comparison tests made by some of the world’s most “golden eared” engineers, we can say this with a strong sense of confidence.

The Networked Audio range of converters brings Swiss-precision and un-ending attention to detail in every single component and signal path and results in the most astonishing of record and reproduction signal paths of any audio interface or converter available today.

Swiss Engineering, high precision

Selecting the best digital components is only one half of the challenge of making the best audio interfaces available. The design of the analog circuits, finding the most suitable power supply and assembling each unit with care is the other critical part of the process. Each unit is individually tested to ensure it meets or exceeds the specification and each AD or DA has its own test sheet supplied. The stylish case makes it instantly recognizable as the quality component it is. Would you expect anything less from a Swiss company?

Professional mastering grade transparency

Mastering your precious project is the final step before release so the last thing you want is a key part of the listening chain coloring the sound. Every detail needs to be heard so that is why Horus, Hapi & Anubis are so widespread in the mastering and archiving communities. We take comments like “neutral”, “transparent”, “detailed” as being the ultimate accolade.

Networkable

The Networked Audio range has been designed so that any input can be routed to any amount of outputs as required. In some cases, this may be linked to the configuration of the card and be limited to groups of 8 channels but the whole point of networked interfaces is the flexibility offered as well as the extraordinary capacity of a simple Cat5e cable.

With comprehensive routing pages accessible both locally on the touchscreen and by remote access using a standard web browser, the Networked Audio range of interfaces is the answer to signal flow management in your studio.

Making the control and management of the network intuitive and simple is easily achieved with ANEMAN; our Audio NEtwork MANager. Any device connected to our Networked Interface range is automatically RAVENNA/AES67 compatible and will appear on the ANEMAN screen as will many devices from other manufacturers.

RAVENNA / AES67 for ANY workstation

Pyramix users are of course our first love, but we are also able to offer any DAW or NLE user the opportunity to take advantage of RAVENNA/AES67 by using the ASIO Driver for PC (RAVENNA support) or the Premium Virtual Audio Device for MAC (RAVENNA & AES67 support). Those driver are available for Horus, Hapi & Anubis

Note that a Standard Virtual Audio Device for MAC with some limitations is available for users without a Merging interface.

For Drivers specifications and differences refer to the page here.

Power Options

Merging converters are commendably kind to the planet and offer options for redundancy and remote operation. Recording in a Siberian cave or an African desert is easy with a Hapi operating on battery power or the optional DC power unit can act as an alternative or back-up supply. A redundant or secondary power option is available for Horus.

Anubis can be powered by its main PSU or/and from PoE (Power over Ethernet) making it a reliable redundant powered device. The input voltage range offers the possibility to use a wide range of power supply such as a battery.
