Pioneering Polish music programme implements Merging into new Dolby Atmos studio

Master Art Foundation in Warsaw, Poland is behind a creative haven for local musicians. Priding itself on offering spaces that are technologically advanced, the foundation pioneered the Talent Bank programme, which provides education and career progression for young Poland-based musicians.

The foundation recently collaborated with Polish integration company ProfiAudio IP on the installation of a Dolby Atmos mastering suite. ProfiAudio IP opted for products from Merging to complete the workflow, including the ANUBIS Pro and HAPI interface, which they believe are the “crème de la crème” of audio technology for artistic recordings and mixing immersive sound.

“We co-operated closely with Igor from ProfiAudio IP to realise our vision,” begins Mateusz Banasiuk, sound engineer and producer at Master Art Foundation. “He offered great solutions and support from the beginning. We have used RAVENNA-based devices like Merging’s Horus, HAPI and ANUBIS for several years, but this time we wanted a solution that elevated our recording capabilities.”

Talent Bank is the first of its kind in Poland. The goal of the programme is to find artistically talented young musicians and provide them with free help in building their careers. Participation in the programme gives musicians the chance to collaborate with renowned artists, attend master classes and develop their music career using the latest technology. The new Dolby Atmos studio offers the chance for the students to get hands-on with immersive audio technology, which wouldn’t have been possible without products from Merging.

Opting for loudspeakers from PSI Audio connected to Merging’s HAPI and the ANUBIS SPS, high resolution and quality of digital to analogue recording won Master Art over, as well as the ambience the studio now offers. The ANUBIS is responsible for monitoring control, switching between stereo and 5.1 and Dolby Atmos. HAPI is used as an output device to connect the loudspeakers in analogue domain.

“The success of this studio concept has been that all our students and artists are blown away by the details that they hear in the sound it produced,” says Banasiuk. “They also appreciate the cohesion and stability of the audio image. The studio is approved and recommended by many polish artists from the classical, film and jazz industries, including countertenor Jakub Józef Orliński, pianist Aleksander Dębicz and jazz violinist Adam Bałdych. We’re thrilled that people of that calibre want to create music in our space.”
