Maltezos’ experience with Merging Technologies began when she sought a set of tools that could handle complex, multichannel recording setups essential for orchestras. Pyramix, in particular, has been indispensable to her workflow. “The flexibility of Pyramix is what drew me to it,” she notes, emphasising that the software’s advanced editing and spatial mixing tools allow her to tackle challenging orchestral projects from start to finish with a cohesive workflow. The software's multichannel support and immersive audio capabilities are central to her success in creating enveloping soundscapes, which are invaluable to artists and producers working in Dolby Atmos and other spatial audio formats.
The Anubis interface, another staple in her setup, has further revolutionised Maltezos' approach by providing her with reliable, real-time monitoring capabilities. “Anubis is so much more than a control monitor,” Maltezos explains. “It’s become essential in my work, especially in orchestral recordings where I’m dealing with multiple live feeds and complex monitoring needs.” The device’s low-latency monitoring and high-quality preamps allow her to capture each instrument with unmatched clarity and precision.
Beyond Anubis, Merging’s Horus and Hapi networked audio interfaces have given Maltezos additional flexibility. Horus’ ultra-low latency and pristine audio quality make it ideal for her large-scale orchestral recordings, while Hapi’s compact form is perfect for remote setups and smaller projects. Together, they create an ecosystem that adapts to various recording environments, enabling Maltezos to handle both live orchestral and studio recordings with ease.
