Pyramix supports many compressed file formats including MP3.
Technology
The decompression is handled via Microsoft DirectShow technology. So the formats supported will depend on which DirectShow codecs are installed. Default Windows installation should handle most of the common compressed file formats (wma, mp3 and more), but a wide variety of codecs exist to support all the major compressed formats (such as ogg-vorbis, flac, etc.).
Codecs
In case of problems with the default Windows Installation or if in need of specific Codec, here is a list of third-party codecs (and their detailed install procedure) that gave good results during validation. Merging cannot guarantee support for all third-party codecs (If a link fails or if a version mismatches, please, let us know by contacting webmaster@merging.com):
Windows Essentials Codec Pack 1.0.
Mp3 Parser Filter 1.009
Mpg123 DirectShow Filter 1.0.4.5
Important: These exact codec packs where validated with Pyramix 6.1, please use these exact versions. Using more recent versions of these packs in conjunction with Pyramix 6.1 might show problems.
