In April Resolution Magazine nominated Pyramix V6 for the Resolution Awards 2009 in the category DAW. Although a panel of experts signed for the nominations, finally, users and readers had to vote for the most innovative and quality system of their choice.
Thanks to those many readers and Pyramix users’ trust and votes Pyramix V6 was voted best product in the DAW category, above all other nominees Ableton Live, Pro Tools and Sequoia ! Such fantastic recognition and appreciation, especially coming from our users, can only make us feel very proud and will be a motivation to continue down the path of developing the best and most advanced DAW on the market. .
Once again we would like to thank you all for granting us this honor. Our responsibility is now even greater than ever, as we are about to be soon releasing Pyramix V6.1 which we expect to represent a new milestone in our constant quest for the most stable, reliable powerful, good sounding and ultimately efficient Digital Audio Workstation.
PLUG-INS : ALGORITHMIX RENOVATOR 2.1 OPTIMIZED FOR PYRAMIX
For many years now the Algorithmix ReNOVAtor plug-in for Pyramix has been an extremely useful tool for audio engineers trying to eliminate disturbing audio events from their projects. Coughs, passing traffic, ringing cell phones or clicks from old vinyl records, it can all be repaired while preserving a perfect sound quality.
The Algorithmix and Merging teams have recently cooperated to enhance the plug-in integration with Pyramix. The ReNOVAtor improvements for Pyramix MassCore™ will bring more reliability and better memory handling. A new ReNOVAtor v2.1 build should be available shortly for all Pyramix users.
For more detailed information about the ReNOVAtor plug-in, please visit the Algorithmix site.
USER TESTIMONIALS : SOUNDFIRM GOES TANGO WITH PYRAMIX
Earlier this year we announced preliminary integration of Smart AV’s Tango with Pyramix. Meanwhile, with the help of some early adopters, this integration has been as good as completed.
One of these early adopters is Chris Goodes at Soundfirm. With state-of-the-art Audio Post Production facilities in Melbourne, Sydney and Beijing, Soundfirm is one of Australia’s largest Post Production companies with studios equipped with Pyramix, the Smart Console and their latest acquisition; Smart’s Tango. The most impressive for him was Tango’s flexibility and the tight integration with our OASIS protocol.

RECENT SALES SUCCESSES
Southern Europe seems to be in amazingly good form this month.
Particular congratulations go to our distributor in Spain, Lexon, who won a number of large orders for VCube, Pyramix as well as Luxor central storage systems for various broadcasters including RNE and TV AUTONOMICA VALENCIANA
In Italy, Audio International did a fantastic job at convincing us to put a major effort in developing in record time the support for MXF MPEG2HD in VCube to satisfy a complete novel and entirely tapeless workflow instigated by Sky Italia both internally and with all its suppliers. The task of
producing 100% Omneon MXF Long-GOP MPEG2HD (1080i) compatible files hasn’t been an easy task, specially due to some peculiarities of Omneon MXFs such as combining the standard distinct 8 audio channels provided by the MXF standard into 4 stereo pairs, not mentioning the support of Dolby E throughout the processing chain (including editing). As we go to print we are happy to report that we delivered the first HD VCube with the above capability to one of the first anticipated supplier of Sky and expect it to be followed by several more in the coming months.
Finally SCV in France enjoyed many successes with plenty Pyramix and VCube systems.
Sun is shining and temperatures are rising whilst we are working on this newsletter. Only a good cocktail, some palm trees and the noise of the see are still missing... (imagine palm trees in Merging offices …). Summer holidays are coming up.
Although Merging offices will do its best to offer a minimal service throughout July and August, many of our staff will enjoy a summer break in the next coming weeks. Our Inside Newsletter will also take some time off and will return in September with more refreshing news, useful tips and interesting topics.
Meanwhile, we wish you all a well deserved, relaxing holiday .
